About the Event
Thermocol is the most basic maker material. It is easy to cut, light weight, low cost and most popular project material for even school kids. This workshop will teach you how to use professional tools to make thermocol craft and cover various applications of the tools.
Topic covered:
Hot wire basics which includes choosing material and required power supply.
Cutting Basics which includes - Cutting a straight line, cutting an inclined line, cutting a circle and cutting using the stencil
Slicing the thermocol designs using hot wire slicer tool
Cutting profiles or 2d-shapes on thermocol using Hot knife cutter
Making 3D shapes and profiles on thermocol (using bent wire & rotary table: RotoCut)
Prerequisites: None
Material: The fee includes the material cost for the session.
Instructor Bio: Vyas is a Mechanical Engineer from VELTECH Engineering College in Chennai, an ardent "Make In India" promoter and an aspiring Entrepreneur. He has a deep interest in electrical and electronics, aero-modelling, CNC and model rocketry. He is currently working at SVP Laser technologies Chennai as a Design Engineer: designing a wide range of products from CNC machines to robots to Vending machines.
