It is the last Ice Age and a caveman finds himself abandoned by his group of elite tribal hunters after a life-threatening injury. Battling the harsh elements all by himself, he befriends a lone wolf,also abandoned by its pack. The two must find their way back home before the deadly winter arrives and freezes them to death in the middle of nowhere. The movie is set 20,000 years back in history and highlights the first tentative bond between human and canine.
