Synopsis

Devdas's life takes a tragic turn when his father forbids him from marrying his beloved childhood sweetheart Parvati (Paro). She is subsequently married off to a wealthy older man. Consumed by grief, Devdas turns to alcohol and seeks solace in the company of Chandramukhi a courtesan who genuinely falls in love with him.
