Drishyam The Conclusion lives up to the mammoth expectations. This is, without doubt, the BEST FILM in the Drishyam franchise and also among the BEST FILMS of 2026. SURE-SHOT BLOCKBUSTER.Director Abhishek Pathak, who helmed the second part as well, proves yet again why he is among the finest storytellers today. He understands the DNA of the franchise and takes the story forward without recycling its formula. In fact, the direction and writing emerge as the two strongest pillars of the film.

The biggest high point is the Ajay Devgn - Jaideep Ahlawat face-off in the first half. Simply MARVELLOUS. Deserves a standing ovation!

The courtroom sequences are another major highlight. In fact, the very first sequence featuring Prakash Raj with Ajay Devgn and his family is yet another brilliant moment.

Now, to the all-important climax – Does it deliver? Does it culminate convincingly? Does it leave you satisfied? YES, YES, YES. The finale is powerful, gripping, and thoroughly fulfilling.

Ajay Devgn returns as the iconic Vijay Salgaonkar – the soul of the franchise. The lifeline of Drishyam The Conclusion. He navigates this demanding role with remarkable brilliance. His pre-interval sequence with Jaideep Ahlawat, in particular, will certainly drive audiences back for repeat viewings.
Jaideep Ahlawat is a terrific addition to the Drishyam universe. His performance is controlled yet commanding, and undoubtedly one of the film's biggest strengths. Tabu is fabulous. Anger, hurt, revenge, determination – the varied emotions she portrays prove yet again why she was the best choice for this part.

Prakash Raj is simply remarkable. His authority and unmistakable screen presence add considerable weight to the proceedings. Shriya Saran is in super form, while Rajat Kapoor brings dignity and conviction to his part. Kamlesh Sawant is top notch, adding further weight to the proceedings.

Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav are alright in their respective parts.

There's no scope for music in the narrative, but the background score is electrifying and significantly enhances the tension and drama.

Final word? Drishyam The Conclusion is sure to rule hearts as well as the boxoffice. A finale that delivers on every front.

A new police officer, Rajveer Tomar (Jaideep Ahlawat), arrives with one mission, to do what everyone before him failed to — bring Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) to his knees. Rajveer is convinced he has fresh evidence that can finally crack Vijay’s carefully constructed defence. His philosophy is simple: “System ka darr bana rehna chahiye.” And unlike the cops before him, he believes he has the ammunition to make Vijay pay. But Vijay has survived this game before. As he puts it, “Agar hero jail mein gaya, toh audience ko accha lagega?” It’s a line that perfectly captures the franchise’s biggest trick: making you root for a man whose actions are, at best, morally debatable.
Written by Aamil Keeyan Khan, Abhishek Pathak and Parveez Shaikh, the film plays safe. It gives you the familiar twists, revelations and reversals rather than attempting anything radically new. Some of the surprises are clever; others feel a little too conveniently placed. Yet, the screenplay keeps you guessing, which is exactly what a Drishyam film needs to do.
The film is at its most interesting when it looks beyond Vijay the mastermind. Is he genuinely empathetic and community-driven, or does he instinctively build relationships knowing they could come in handy someday? A sequence involving religion is particularly effective and emerges as one of the film’s high points. Ajay Devgn does what he does best — says little and lets his eyes do the talking. He spends much of the film brooding quietly while Jaideep Ahlawat gets the dialogue-heavy role. It takes a secure actor to allow another performer this much room and still retain control of the screen.
Ahlawat, however, is almost too eager to dominate. Rajveer comes armed with narcissistic one-liners, permanent cigarette and enough swagger. Ahlawat is terrific, as always, but the character could have done with more layers and less dialoguebaazi. His confrontation with Devgn is nevertheless one of the film’s most gripping stretches.
Tabu and Rajat Kapoor bring the restraint needed to ground the proceedings. They don’t overplay their parts and quietly add to the tension. Shriya Saran, however, feels oddly disconnected from the emotional upheaval of several scenes, with her dialogue delivery often working against the moment. Kamlesh Sawant’s Gaitonde remains the franchise’s dependable constant and gets some of the film’s best lines.
Ultimately, it is Ajay Devgn who gives Drishyam its emotional edge. There is an inherent niceness to his screen presence that makes Vijay easy to empathise with, even when you question his choices. His decision to bury a crime is hardly morally defensible, but Devgn makes you understand why this man believes he is doing what he has to do. His face-off with Ahlawat is unnerving.
The film also benefits from its slow, steady buildup. The eventual payback is largely satiating, even if portions of it feel engineered for convenience. The cops believe they are finally ahead of Vijay. Are they? That question keeps the narrative ticking, even when the script itself isn’t entirely airtight. Drishyam 3 chooses to stick to the franchise’s standard template rather than risk reinventing it. At two-and-a-half hours, however, the film begins to drag towards the end and could have benefited from tighter editing. Still, its biggest strength remains its ability to keep you immersed and consistently anxious about what happens next. Unlike the previous instalments, this film is not a remake of a Malayalam original. Instead, it features an original Hindi script developed independently to give the Bollywood franchise a definitive finale.
Drishyam 3 may not reinvent the game, but it knows exactly how to keep you playing.

Vijay Salgaonkar has spent two films staying ten steps ahead of the law, constructing lies, planting evidence and turning October 2 into an alibi that became pop-culture folklore. So when Drishyam: The Conclusion arrives four years after the second part, promising to finally close every loop, the expectation is not merely to watch another thriller but to see how Vijay’s elaborate game ends. You want that final twist to make you sit up, applaud and say, “Wow, kya ending hai!”

Sadly, that moment never quite arrives. Drishyam 3 is good. It is clever, entertaining and packed with enough twists to keep you invested for most of its runtime. There are moments that make you smile, root for Vijay and sometimes even genuinely wonder how he will wriggle out this time. But for a film that has been marketed as the final chapter of one of Bollywood’s most loved thriller franchises, it never quite reaches the high of the films it is trying to conclude. The strange thing is, you cannot even say it is a bad film. It is simply not the grand farewell you were hoping for.

The film opens six months after the events of Drishyam 2. Vijay Salgaonkar and his family are desperately trying to rebuild their lives, but the fear of the police case continues to hang over them. And then comes Rajveer Singh Tomar, played by Jaideep Ahlawat, a police officer given the responsibility of reopening the case. Within minutes, he brings in new evidence that can potentially put Vijay and his family right back under the scanner. The next two-and-a-half hours are essentially another elaborate game of cat and mouse. Only this time, the cat knows exactly who the mouse is.

There is a brilliant line in the film when Murad (Saurabh Shukla) points out that Ravana had ten heads and Vijay has ten stories. And there is one thing common to all of them: “Hero kabhi jail nahi jaata.” It is almost the thesis statement of the franchise.

Vijay is not a conventional hero, and yet you root for him. You know this man and his family have killed someone. You know they have deliberately obstructed an investigation and kept a grieving family from getting closure. And still, when Vijay manages to outsmart the law, you find yourself cheering. And that moral contradiction is the real magic of Drishyam.

There is also a genuinely funny moment when Gaitonde (Kamlesh Sawant) talks about his children sending him memes (pronounced mee-mee) about October 2, because Vijay’s ability to evade him has become a running joke even inside his own family. It is a small scene, but it captures just how much the character has seeped into popular culture.

This time, however, the law appears to be closing in. Prakash Raj enters as lawyer Shetty, the “lawyer ka goonda”, while Tabu’s character, still grieving her son’s death, returns with a renewed desire for revenge. Vijay, meanwhile, is again setting the chakravyuh himself and figuring out how to derail the people trying to trap him. And without giving away spoilers, there are enough moments here that will make Drishyam fans cheer.
The film moves with confidence, but the problem comes in when it occasionally becomes too indulgent. There is a lot of dialogue-baazi, and while some of it is entertaining, most of it begins to feel like the writers are enjoying their own cleverness a little too much. There is a courtroom exchange where the judge tells everyone to come to the “mudde ki baat”, and honestly, there are moments when you want to say the same thing to the film.

Because the courtroom should have been where the film really explodes. Instead, it is strangely one of the biggest disappointments. The twists are there, the evidence keeps changing, the stakes keep rising, but the pulsating drama you expect from the final confrontation never quite arrives.

The film’s treatment of religion as a way of diverting attention from the central issue is particularly interesting, especially in today’s context. It is a smart narrative device and one of the more intriguing ideas in the screenplay.
Interestingly, Drishyam, as a franchise, expects its audience to watch the previous films to understand what’s playing out. While that could potentially alienate a new audience, for franchise fans it actually works.

Ajay Devgn is fabulous as Vijay Salgaonkar. Eleven years after first stepping into the character, he has made Vijay completely his own and so different from Mohanlal’s Kutty. The brooding eyes, the intense stare, the almost straight-faced calm even when the world around him is collapsing, everything has become synonymous with this character.

Shriya Saran gets some strong emotional moments, while the two daughters continue to carry the fear of their past. Tabu and Rajat Kapoor return with revenge replacing some of their earlier helplessness, though their characters are not given enough to do.

Prakash Raj, meanwhile, is terrific. His one-liners are among the film’s funniest moments. Jaideep Ahlawat, too, makes a strong impression. After Akshaye Khanna’s memorable presence in the previous film, Ahlawat arrives as the new face of the opposition, sporting crisp white shirts, gelled hair and a cigarette, and brings a controlled swagger to Tomar. He is positioned almost like the stylish new hero of the franchise, standing on the opposite side of Vijay.
The music adds to the atmosphere, and the supporting cast does its job well. But eventually, everything comes down to the climax. And that is where The Conclusion stumbles.

The twists and turns will impress you. The plotting will keep you engaged. There are moments when Vijay’s ability to manipulate the system remains as fascinating as ever. But when the final curtain comes down, you are left thinking: “Was that it?”

After four years of waiting to see how Vijay Salgaonkar’s story finally ends, you wanted a mic-drop moment, you wanted to raise a toast. Instead, you find yourself applauding politely.

Does the much-awaited concluding part of Drishyam live up to its expectations? Yes, it absolutely does.

A very quick recap, before we jump into the details. In 2013, came the original, headlined by Mohanlal as the not-very-educated cable-TV operator who gets embroiled in a dark cover-up involving his family. Loosely borrowing from the chief plot twists of the globally popular Japanese thriller The Devotion of Suspect X by Kiego Higashino, the Malayalam-language film gained an instant cult following and was remade in a bunch of languages, including Hindi, in which Ajay Devgn jumped into the part and ran with it, in 2015.

The 2022 second part, in which the remains of a body are discovered from a spot no one could ever think of, sustained both audience interest as well as box-office loyalty, making it one of the year’s biggest hits, a bright spot in an industry badly hit by Covid closures.
Now comes the conclusion, in which the Goa-based Salgaonkars, Vijay (Devgn), his wife Nandini (Shriya Saran), and his daughters Anju (Ishita Dutta) and Anu (Mrunal Jadhav) are still living under the cloud of that long-ago murder, in constant dread of discovery. The dead boy’s mother, former senior cop Meera Deshmukh (Tabu) is struggling with deep hopelessness; the father, Mahesh (Rajat Kapoor) finds himself propping her up till the arrival of can-do Crime Branch officer Rajveer Tomar (Jaideep Ahlawat) threatens to blow the cold case wide open, holding out promise of relief.

Deviating significantly for the first time from Mohanlal’s film which came out a few months back, and with its trusty ensemble sexed up by new additions – Ahlawat as the perpetually wreathed-in-cigarette-smoke cop, and Prakash Raj as the seemingly invincible prosecutor Indrajit Shetty – director Abhishek Pathak give us a conclusion which feels right: never taking away the palpable, stunned grief of the victim’s parents, but also never letting the righteous Salgaonkars down by mealy-mouthed court proceedings. The pronouncement, which comes at the end of a tetchy exchanges between junior defence lawyer Gayathri Mohan (Samvedna Suwalka) and the crestfallen Shetty, feels like a vindication.

The reason why we’ve gone along with these characters – the younger daughter has grown, as they say, in front of our eyes – is the moral complexity that surrounds the crime: even if the perpetrator is the worst person in the world, is he improved by killing? Does the guilt ever entirely go away, much as the people involved would like it to? What kind of human can smile and hide such dark secrets without corroding their soul? While Pathak and his co-writers Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Sheikh take care not to fall too far into the abyss, because that’s what a serious engagement with these questions would bring out (the portly Saurabh Shukla is made the conveyor of these thoughts, which he spells out briefly, before vanishing), the film never abandons its familiar pacy thriller feels and dramatic, dialogue-laden blocks in tight close-up, with spurts of uneasy laughter and the occasional tense moment thrown in.

Devgn is as solid as ever as the unflappable, cinema-obsessed Salgaonkar who is always two steps ahead of the law, getting his slo-mo stride to the camera. Prakash Raj thunders effectively. And Jaideep Ahlawat’s jaunty tilt – I’m never going to look at a plate of jalebi in the same way – never once lets me miss the smirky Akshaye Khanna, who played the same part in part 2.

But while the men do most of the heavy lifting, I don’t think I will be able to forget Tabu’s wounded eyes, which belong to a mother unable to comprehend a world which doesn’t have her only child. She’s terrific, as always.

If only the film didn’t wreathe itself in ear-shattering bgm, I would have liked it even more: why do even the most confidently-told films not trust its telling? The final part gives the sense of an ending, and a beginning.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is finally in theatres. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj, Kamlesh Sawant, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav in key roles. Drishyam 3 brings Ajay Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar, the man who can go to any length to protect his family. Picking up from the events of the previous films, the story once again revolves around Vijay trying to stay one step ahead of the law while protecting his wife Nandini and daughters.

The film develops its plot well and wastes little time getting into the central conflict. Unlike thrillers that take too long to establish their world, Drishyam 3 remains fast-paced and does not feel slow or boring. Rather, it keeps the audiences hooked all the time. The screenplay keeps introducing situations that make you wonder how Vijay will get himself and his family out of trouble this time. Let’s see what works for the film and what doesn’t:
What Works For Drishyam 3?
Once again, the biggest strength of Drishyam 3 remains the fact that the film is gripping. It keeps the audiences on their toes and constantly makes them anticipate what Vijay’s next move could be. Even though the film is a little predictable and you know where the story is heading to, the screenplay manages to keep things moving and engaging.

The dialogues of the film are another highlight and really deserve appreciation. They are witty, smartly written and add a certain charm to the proceedings. The humour does not feel completely forced and works particularly well in scenes involving Kamlesh Sawant, who plays the role of Gaitonde.
Drishyam 3 also understands what audiences expect from the Drishyam franchise. Vijay is once again willing to do everything possible to save his family, one last time. Ajay Devgn does not have as many dialogues this time around, but that actually works in favour of his character. Vijay’s silence, expressions and calculated reactions often say more than words could.
Ajay Devgn is restrained as Vijay Salgaonkar. His character has always been someone who thinks several steps ahead, and this time, the actor relies more on his expressions and body language than lengthy dialogues. There is a certain calmness to Vijay even when things are falling apart around him.

Jaideep Ahlawat is a delight to watch. His character is smart, observant and constantly trying to understand Vijay’s game and he eventually ends up understanding everything, although it’s too late by then. Ahlawat brings the right amount of intensity to the role and makes his portions engaging.
Prakash Raj delivers a very strong performance. He manages to steal the sequences whenever he appears. His screen presence adds weight to the film, and his interactions with the other characters, especially in the courtroom, are among the most compelling moments of the film.

Shriya Saran, Tabu and Rajat Kapoor are decent in their respective roles and fit comfortably into the world of Drishyam. Kamlesh Sawant, meanwhile, is fabulous. He brings humour to the film and his dialogues have been written particularly smartly. His comic timing gives the otherwise tense narrative of the film a much-needed breathing space.

What Doesn’t Work For Drishyam 3?
The biggest problem with Drishyam 3 is its predictability. The film is gripping, but it rarely feels unpredictable. If you have watched the earlier films closely, you may find yourself guessing several developments before they happen.

There is also a sense of familiarity throughout the film. It looks and feels very much like the previous Drishyam films. The same family-protection angle, Vijay’s calculated moves and the cat-and-mouse game with the authorities make the film feel safe.

Considering this is being presented as the conclusion, one may expect something more dramatic or unexpected. A revenge angle or a completely different direction could have made the final chapter more exciting. Instead, it chooses a relatively safe ending that fits the franchise but does not necessarily leave you stunned.

Conclusion
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is a gripping and fast-paced thriller that understands the appeal of its franchise. It keeps you invested and benefits from strong performances, particularly from Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat, Prakash Raj and Kamlesh Sawant.

However, the film’s biggest strength is also its weakness. It is not a bad film but it sticks closely to the Drishyam formula, making it familiar. It is not a grand conclusion that the franchise deserved. For fans of Vijay Salgaonkar, there is enough here to keep you entertained as he goes all out to save his family one last time. But for those expecting a bold twist or a dramatically different conclusion, the film may feel like a safe final chapter.

What Works
The writing and direction are easily among the film's strongest aspects. Director Abhishek Pathak wisely avoids repeating what has already worked. Instead, the narrative introduces a fresh layer to the central conflict and gradually builds towards the inevitable confrontation. The screenplay keeps the suspense alive while allowing the emotional stakes to remain at the heart of the story.

The first-half confrontation between Ajay Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat stands out. Their contrasting screen energies create tremendous tension, making their exchanges among the most memorable portions of the film. The courtroom sequences are equally effective, with the opening sequence involving Prakash Raj, Devgn and his family immediately establishing the stakes. The climax is another major strength. It delivers on the questions surrounding the story and delivers a fitting conclusion. The background score further elevates the suspense, adding intensity to several crucial moments.

Acting Performances
Ajay Devgn once again proves why Vijay Salgaonkar remains one of his most memorable characters. The fact that he remains amongst the rare actors who can also act with their eyes is beyond commendable. His controlled performance communicates the character's intelligence, fear and determination without relying on exaggerated expressions. His pre-interval confrontation with Jaideep Ahlawat is particularly impressive.

Jaideep Ahlawat is terrific and brings a completely different energy to the Drishyam universe. His performance is restrained, authoritative and menacing without becoming theatrical. His chemistry and confrontations with Devgn provide the film with some of its strongest dramatic moments.

Tabu is fabulous, bringing anger, pain, determination and revenge to her character with conviction. Prakash Raj adds considerable gravitas, while Shriya Saran takes us back to her character Nandini's innocence. Rajat Kapoor brings dignity to his role, and Kamlesh Sawant makes an impact and delivers the comic punch whenever he appears. Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav deliver decent acts despite having limited material to work with.

Final Verdict
Drishyam: The Conclusion delivers where it matters most right from the writing, performances to building the tension, and climax. Abhishek Pathak successfully expands the franchise without losing its core identity, while Ajay Devgn remains its undisputed emotional anchor.

Jaideep Ahlawat's arrival adds fresh conflict, Tabu continues to command attention, and the courtroom and climax sequences provide the required dramatic highs. With a satisfying finale, Drishyam The Conclusion emerges as a strong concluding chapter.
