Emraan Hashmi is a popular actor recognized for his work in Bollywood. He started his career as an assistant director and made his acting debut with the 2003 crime-thriller Footpath. He rose to nationwide fame playing the antagonist in the 2004 erotic-thriller Murder and went on to appear as powerful grey characters in films like Gangster, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Aashiq Banaya Apne, Murder 2 and Awarapan. He also played the role of Indian cricketer and former national team captain Mohammad Azharuddin in the biopic Azhar. Hashmi has won several accolades for his versatile performances.
