Kathir, a greedy schemer, drags his family into debt and violence, forcing them to flee to his abandoned mountain village. There while the villagers struggle for a road Kathir sees profit in the local “mooligai rasam” drink and starts a lucrative business. Kayal discovers that ex‑president Ezhuvan has been exploiting villagers by seizing their land and their fight against his greed and Kathir’s illicit deals forms the core of “Vellakuthira.”
