Sofiyum

Sofiyum is a folk-fusion band from Gangtok, Sikkim, renowned for their pioneering efforts in preserving and promoting the endangered Lepcha language and culture through music. Formed in 2011, the band's name, "Sofiyum," translates to "breeze" in the Lepcha language, symbolizing their gentle yet impactful mission to revive their community's heritage. The group is led by vocalist and songwriter Mickma Tshering Lepcha and includes several other members of the Lepcha community.
