The Gay Gaze Bombay and Kommune are joining hands to bring you a spellbinding Storytelling workshop (the first of 2 parts) -- exclusively for people from the LGBTQIA+ community.

This is not a regular storytelling workshop: It's a workshop where you will dig deep as Queer folks into your own emotions and experiences to find a story, hopefully, one you’ve always wanted to tell but have not had to tools to do so.

The workshop will take place over 2 days -- on Day 1, you will discover and write a story. On Day 2, you will perform your story and get feedback from the facilitator and the other participants

Why should you attend the workshop “Stories in You”?

• Learn how to turn every experience into a brilliant 5 - minute story. A skill that is left out of the school syllabus
• Have an intimate session of learning, sharing, and creating
• Begin the journey of self-editing and curating - become your own most reliable critic
• Get the confidence to tell your own story to a large group of people
• Learn how to identify stories from the world inside you, and the world around you

Who can apply for this workshop?

• If you identify as someone who is Queer or Questioning or is part of the LGBTQIA++ umbrella then you are welcome to join. Even if you are questioning or closeted, your privacy will be respected. You are welcome.
• Folks without prior experience in story-telling or writing are also welcome to apply.
• FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP: - We urge members of the Queer Muslim community, Queer DBA community, Queer Disabled community, and other minorities not listed to please apply for the 5 seats we have reserved for you. If due to certain circumstances you can’t apply for this workshop due to financial concerns, please feel free to apply and mention this in your application. About the facilitator

Shantanu Anand is a storyteller and spoken word poet.

In 2019, he was included in the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 list, in the Performance Arts Category, for his contributions to the world of Spoken Word.

He is the co-editor of the poetry anthology, A Letter, A Poem, A Home, which sold out its copies on its first day of release in 2020. He has facilitated 100+ storytelling and poetry workshops, for 5,000+ people. He leads content at Kommune and is part of the core curation team of Spoken Fest.
