Move Curious Productions presents “The Circle Is” / Women in Street dance.

A dance theatre production featuring prominent women from Street dance in India.

A unique, 30-minute dance performance experience, which aims to showcase the spirit of the Cypher/Circle in Freestyle Street dance to a broader audience with an artistic experiential twist while simultaneously visiting the symbolism of 'the circle' in art and life itself.

Collectively, the dancers, namely Ambarin Kadri, Sri Lakshmi Muralidharan, Tejasvi Patil, Priya Lisa Gonsalves, and Mekhola Bose, will perform styles such as Hip Hop, House, Waacking, Animation, and Boogaloo. 

The cast is carefully curated and consists of women who have contributed vastly from the nascent stages to the ongoing evolution of Street dance in India.

Produced and creatively directed by Priya Lisa Gonsalves, who is one of the first female Hip Hop and House dancers in India, “The Circle Is” is a passion project and a culmination of over 20 years of creative expression via dance.

“The Circle Is” answers the core question of why we dance, and is a journey into the heart and soul of each dancer whilst experiencing absolute unrehearsed freestyle dance expression, which is the essence of the movement itself.
