About the Event

Being one of the few professionals who has successfully worked in all 3 mediums – theatre, television and film, Ananth N Mahadevan shares his experience and insights into shuttling between the mediums.

An interesting keynote for actors and directors today, who are constantly faced with the challenges each of the mediums have to offer.

Ananth N Mahadevan
Ananth Narayan Mahadevan has donned several hats. During his 35 years of showbiz, he has been an actor, writer, director and editor in films, television and theatre. After a dream debut with the venerable Peter O Toole in a cameo in Kim, he became a popular television face with Ados Pados, Ghar Jamai and The Sword of Tipu Sultan among several other serials. Films like Khiladi, Baazigar, Baadshah, Gardish, Ishq, Staying Alive, Papanaasam and now Kachcha Limbo have established his versatility over the years. He has directed 15 feature films prominent amongst which are Gour Hari Dastaan, Rough Book and the 4 time National award winning internationally acclaimed Mee Sindhutai Sapkal. His latest film DOCTOR RAKHMABAI has already been the toast of several festivals and is slated for an early 2018 release. About the Venue
The Royal Opera House, Mumbai is widely touted as the city's Cultural Crown Jewel and India's only surviving Opera House. Inaugurated in 1911 by King George V, the design incorporated a blend of European and Indian detailing. The space became a cinema in later years before shutting in the 1990s. Fittingly, the space has been owned by the Royal Family of Gondal since 1952 and was eventually restored by the conservation architect, Abha Narain Lambah under the leadership of the current Maharaja of Gondal, Shri Jyotendrasinhji.
