About the Event

Unlock the secrets of Warli art with Dinesh Barap, renowned Warli artist and Sanjay Gandhi National Park resident. Learn traditional techniques, explore indigenous motifs, and take home your artistic tribute to the rich heritage of the Warlis.

The Warlis are one of the oldest tribes of India, an indigenous community inhabiting Dahanu and Palghar districts of Maharashtra and some areas bordering Gujarat. Their distinct style of art highlights their relationship with nature.

Dinesh Barap, a resident of the tribal settlement on the banks of the Dahisar river, Mumbai, learnt this art from his grandmother and strives hard to keep it alive. He will introduce you to the charming forms and motifs in Warli art and share the ancestral techniques of drawing them using natural colours and materials.

Explore the vibrant world of warli art, connect with its rich heritage, and leave with your own bespoke handmade masterpiece.
