About the Event

Family Ties: Documenting Family Histories with Malvika Bhatia

If you've ever said to yourself, "I wish I had recorded their stories" about a grandparent, but never known where to begin, then join us over the next two Sundays.

Inspired by Annu Palakunnathu Matthew’s ongoing exhibition ‘the answers take time’, we'll take a look at why people choose to record their family's stories and how it helps them identify with their past. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with sepiaEYE.

Malvika Bhatia is a museum and heritage professional, and an oral historian. She is the Archive Director at The Citizens' Archive of India; a digital oral history archive that uses personal histories and material memory to preserve India's past. Malvika believes History is best taught through storytelling, and does just that through her work.
